Sri Chinmoy, standing outside Perfection in the Head-World barber shop, watches the parade taking shape across the street near PS 86. Starting at 10 a.m., the parade travels up Parsons Blvd. and continues for 7 miles in the borough of Queens. It is organised by Sri Chinmoy’s students to celebrate his upcoming 50th birthday, and incorporates marching bands, floats, banners and hundreds of participants in fancy-dress costumes.
