Some of Sri Chinmoy’s aphorisms are placed inside fortune cookies, which he hands out to his disciples. Some of Sri Chinmoy’s aphorisms and meditations (nos. 75-168) are placed inside fortune cookies, which he hands out to his disciples in the Manhattan Centre. He then asks them to read out the meditation in their cookie and proceeds to elaborate on each one. A similar meeting was held for the New York Centre disciples on 1 September 1974 where he handed out aphorisms (nos. 1-74). All 168 aphorisms are later published in his book, Fortune-Philosophy.
