Sri Chinmoy lifted 35 people, including the Executive Secretary of the Brunei Olympic Council. He also breaks his lifting record by lifting his 2,070th person from the seated position, surpassing his previous record of 2,058 lifts in the standing position, at the Orchid Garden Hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

Sri Chinmoy is awarded the Medal of Freedom, Timor-Leste’s highest honour, from Prime Minister Mari Alkatiri, in Dili, Timor-Leste. Sri Chinmoy is the first to receive this award. In return, Sri Chinmoy honours Dr. Alkitiri with the first World-Harmony-Dreamer Award.

Sri Chinmoy then offers a Peace Concert attended by the Prime Minister, the President of the Parliament, the Chief Justice and other Parliamentary Leaders, Ministers and Ambassadors.

During earlier private meetings, Sri Chinmoy meets with Bishop Carlos Belo, 1996 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and other dignitaries at Hotel Timor in Dilli, Timor-Leste.

Sri Chinmoy meets with Girija Prasad Koirala, Prime Minister of Nepal, at the Inauguration Ceremony of Nepal as a Sri Chinmoy Peace-Blossom–Nation. There, he also meets with Kirthi Nidhi Bista and Lokendra Bahadur Chand, both Former Prime Ministers. Also attending is the Speaker of the Upper House of the National Assembly. The ceremony at the Yak and Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal, includes a trumpeting Elephant Welcome.

Sri Chinmoy receives the ‘Heart and Soul of Hinduism’ award from Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia, the Indonesia Hinduism Society. The presentation is made by the acting chairman at Lembaga Dharma Duta in Jakarta, Indonesia.
