Sri Chinmoy meets with José López Portillo, President of Mexico, at the Presidential Residence in Los Pinos in Mexico City, Mexico.
The Sri Chinmoy singers perform a song about Mexico which Sri Chinmoy had composed in Lopez Portillo’s honour. The President is “very thrilled to see the name of my country converted into melody and rhythm.” Later he tells Sri Chinmoy, “I hope the example that you offer expands through the world.”
