After meditating with the actor, Sri Chinmoy told him that in the inner world he was a “most aspiring heart ... and a most illumining soul.”
He added: From now on, “My prayerful love, joy and concern shall be always with you, in you and for you.”
Goldblum replied, “Wow! Gosh! I am overwhelmed with this honor ... and your prayer and your beautiful words and all your beautiful faces .... I feel so humble and grateful to be with you .... I'll never forget this moment.”
Later that day, Sri Chinmoy lifted other luminaries in the art and music world, including artist Peter Max.

True, I do not know
Who I am.
But I do know
Whose I am.

A story by Sri Chinmoy
After the race* a tall, thin gentleman came up to me and said, “Do you remember me, Sri Chinmoy?”
At first I thought, “How am I going to remember who he is, even though I am looking at him?” Then I remembered that his name was John Graham. He was formerly with the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. It was he who wrote a letter to the U.S. State Department arranging for my talk there last year, and I thanked him deeply.
He said, “I was glad to be of help to you.” He told me his timing for the seven-mile race. It was about an eight-minute pace. My timing is better for seven miles, but I didn’t tell him.
Before he left the U.S. Mission, I gave him an interview after one of our meetings at the United Nations. During the interview he had asked me how he could bring forward and utilise his power. So I had given him an answer and he had remembered it. He had even memorised some of my words and he quoted them to me.
After he left the U.N. he went to India to give lectures on “How to change the world.” He was at Gandhi’s ashram. For seventeen years he has been in politics. Now he has learned about spirituality and he is a real seeker. Still he is giving lectures. His theme is always “How to change the world.”

Poems spontaneously composed by Sri Chinmoy
in Room 550 at the United Nations, New York

During a meeting of the Meditation Group Sri Chinmoy leads at the UN, he invites those present to give him spiritual words, from which he then composes 22 poems.
A human being
Does not know
What sincerity is.A divine being
Does not know
Anything else save
And
Except sincerity.
Concentration
Is
Intensity-power.Meditation
Is
Immensity-power.Contemplation
Is
Earth's,
Heaven's
And
God's
Utility-power.
Human love
Tells the world
What it can do for the world,
Although
It does not do it.Divine love
Tells the world
That it is crying to be accepted
As a real friend
By the world of suffering,
The world of misunderstanding
And
The world of constant miseries,
Frustrations, trials and tribulations.
Love divine
Is begging this world of ours
Only to be accepted
So that it may then serve the world.
The human in us
Ascends for success,
Greater success
And
Greatest success.The divine in us
Transcends for self-giving,
More self-giving,
And
Most self-giving.
Willpower
Is the light of the soul.
This light of the soul
Does not expose
The darkness of millennia
Which we embody.
On the contrary,
This light of the soul
Illumines the ignorance-night
That has captured us
And wants to strangle us.
This light frees us,
This light liberates us
From ignorance-night
And
Then illumines the ignorance-night
That had enveloped us.
Oneness with the physical world
Teaches us
How to divide,
How to separate,
How to limit
And
How to bind;
It teaches us
How to destroy the thing
That we feel is real in us,
Which is love.Oneness with the spiritual world
And spiritual life
Shows us
How to give,
How to serve,
How to grow into
And
How to become a divine being,
The Being Supreme
Who embodies the Love of the
World Beyond.
Vastness
Is
The expansion of purity
In the human being.
Vastness
Is
The song of oneness
In the life of the seeker.
It is
The life of oneness
With the world of love
In the life of a genuine seeker.
Where is light?
Is it in the mind?
Yes, it is.
When will it come to the fore?
Nobody knows.
Only God knows.Where is light?
Is it inside the heart?
Yes, it is.
When will it come to the fore?
Now, right now.
Not only does God know it,
But we all know it.
Purity
In the mind
Can save the world.
Purity
In the vital
Can build the world for God's use.
Purity
In the body
Can alone create a
Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Purity
In the heart
Is God-Perfection
In a human being.
With physical courage
We take pride
In breaking the world
In our own way.
With the courage of the spirit
We offer the world to God.
We place the world, our world,
At the Feet of God
So that He may guide and mould
The world, our world,
In His own Way.
If you want to see
The world with your human eyes,
You can never see harmony.
If you want to see
The world with the eyes of the world,
You can never see harmony.
But
If you want to see the world with God's Eye,
Then you will see
That this world
Is nothing but cosmic harmony.
How do you see through God's Eye?
You see only through constant self-giving
To the Source within you.
My yesterday's experience was:
Receiving is all delight.
My today's experience is:
Giving is all delight.
My tomorrow's experience will be:
God-becoming in God's own Way
Is all delight.
Compassion
Is God's Perfection
In man
And
Man's total, ultimate transformation
In God.
A seeker's heart
Cares neither for success
Nor for failure.
A seeker's heart
Longs for the seeker's
Constant acceptance of God
And
God's constant
Unconditional experience
In and through the seeker's life.
Charity needs a beggar,
But who wants to play
The role of a beggar?
Nobody.Oneness-necessity needs reality
And
Reality needs oneness-necessity.Not charity,
But oneness-necessity
Is reality's divinity.
Oneness-necessity
Is what God wants from us.
Humility is not only
The swiftest speed to God-destination,
But something more.
Humility brings God-destination
Nearer to our starting point.
The hour of victory strikes within me
In my aspiring heart
Only when I offer the reality-second
To the hour of victory.
The reality-second
Which is flooded with aspiration-light
Has to be offered
To the hour of victory for its arrival.
Sweet
Is affection-plant.
Sweeter
Is love-tree.
Sweetest
Is oneness-fruit.
My aspiration-speed
Will carry me to God.
My dedication-speed
Will carry me to God.
My surrender-speed
Will not only bring God to me,
But it will make God work in and through me
In a God-illumined way.
The human beloved
Is a one-day wonder,
And then it becomes boring
And is all gone.
It is an experience
Of frustration-night.
The Divine Beloved
Is He who grows in me,
Who makes me feel that
I am eternally of Him
And
I am eternally for Him.
Discrimination is
A power of illumination.
In the mental world,
Discrimination is the height achieved
By the aspiring divine in us.
Human appreciation
Of perfection
Is a short-lived proclamation.
Divine appreciation
Of perfection
Is a continuous proclamation
Of perfection
And
A continuous transcendence
Of perfection.

A talk by Sri Chinmoy
at Adelphi University, Garden City, New York
God’s Will and my will. Is my will becoming one with God’s Will? Yes, it is.
What does God want from me? God wants me to express my deep appreciation for those who help me in my life’s journey towards the uncharted golden Land, and I am doing it.
God wants me to thank my friends sincerely and unreservedly, and I am doing it.
God wants me to say a few nice things about my enemies. Indeed, it is a hard task, but somehow I manage to do it.
God wants me to decrease drastically my desire-bound earthly needs, such as material possessions, name, fame and glory, and I am doing it.
God wants me to increase boundlessly my aspiration-free heavenly needs, such as a self-giving concern for humanity and an unconditional surrender to divinity. I am doing it.
God wants me to grow into a gratitude-sea so that I can receive Him all the time measurelessly and, at the same time, please Him in His own Way. I am doing it.
In an uncertain world there are only four things that are unmistakably and absolutely certain:
God loves me unconditionally.
I need Him breathlessly.
God has come to me as a Compassion-Tree.
One day, at God’s choice Hour, I shall go to Him as a satisfaction-fruit, His satisfaction-fruit.

What do I need? I need a lifelong passport to humanity's heart-country. Before I get this passport, I must accomplish quite a few things in my life of aspiration and dedication.
I must acquire a heart full of faith-blossoms and aspiration-flames.
I must acquire a doubt-banished mind and a confusion-illumined mind.
I must acquire a vital that is always a stranger to restlessness and aggression. I must have a vital that is surcharged with energy and dynamism.
I must acquire a body that is divinely strong — as strong as a fort. I must have a body that is supremely pure — as pure as the heart of a temple.
I must say good-bye to my centuries of insecurity. I must say good-bye to my centuries of self-importance and pride. I must say good-bye to my centuries of ignorance-multiplication-game.
Every day, without fail, I must learn a new surrender-prayer that will reach the Forgiveness-Feet of my Lord Supreme.
Every day, without fail, I must learn a new gratitude-meditation that will fly into the Heart of my Lord Beloved Supreme.
Every day, without fail, I must learn to love my Lord Supreme and manifest Him unconditionally in His own Way.
In my heart-garden I must sow the seeds of patience, compassion and forgiveness slowly, steadily, cheerfully and unerringly.
In my heart-garden I must most devotedly and faithfully grow the plant of universal oneness.
In my heart-garden I must grow into a world-nourishing and world-fulfilling tree. This is the tree that aspires to reach the highest heights. This is the tree that offers cheerfully what it has within. This is the tree that becomes inseparably one with earth's excruciating pangs as well as Heaven's infinite Delight.
Lo and behold, I am now the holder of a lifelong passport to humanity's heart-country.
